Tommasone Vini - Spumante ischia bianco extra brut

The La Pietra di Tommasone agricultural company was founded in 2000. The father of Mr. Antonio Monti, Tommaso, was heir to a family tradition that had been handed down from father to son for over a hundred years: winemaking.

La Pietra di Tommasone stands on an imposing tuff stone in the heart of Lacco Ameno. The history of Tommasone was born in 1870, when Piero

Monti, forerunner of enology, began to make wine. The family tradition was interrupted in the 80s when grandfather Tommaso died, his son Antonio, went to Germany to engage himself in catering abandoning the family vineyard. In 2009 the business resumes with Lucia Monti, Antonio’s oldest daughter, who takes over the family business, giving life to ‘La Pietra di Tommasone’, one of the most exciting wine-producing realities of Ischia. The company has a vineyard area of 13,42 hectares, located in 11 estates among the Municipality of Lacco Ameno, Forio and Sant’Angelo. Viticulture is defined heroic, this because almost all the activities are not mechanized, given the adverse conditions of the territory: important slopes, strong insolations and wind, the same conditions that make the viticultural areas of Ischia, among the most beautiful ones in Italy.

It is with a vintage, the Ischia Bianco spumante, that Lucia Monti wants to honor the island, a blend of Biancolella and Forastera, the grapes that most represent Ischia and express the territory in the glass.
On the palate it is a breath of freshness, the acidity is the shoulder to an incredible minerality. The perlage is intense and perennial and makes the sip lively and intriguing. A good alcohol level gives softness and roundness.
On the nose, you get lost in the rich and intense aromatic spectrum that opens with delicate aromas of white fruit, to then reach citrus nuances, the sensory journey continues with notes of Mediterranean scrub and balsamic splashes.
Ischia Bianco by Tommasone sparkling wine is a wine that captivates you with its freshness and then charms you with its complexity, which is slowly revealed in the glass, sip by sip, minute after minute. A wine that pays tribute to the land, managing to exert in one gulp the strength of the sea, with its salty notes, and the energy of the fire that boils over the belly of the island and gives the wine extreme minerality. A concentration of strength and delicacy, which with its story reveals all the nuances of the island of Ischia.

Characteristics of the wine
