We are French, and we’ll come to Naples for a few days in April.
We’ll come to visit Ischia for one day and one night, and we’d like to know if it’s possible to rent a car in Naples (and come by ferry with it) or in Ischia directly and to use it on the island.

I’ve read on the internet that cars are forbidden - except for people who live on the island all the year.

Can you tell me?

the prohibition to embark cars from Naples refers to people who are resident in the Campania region. In April there are not prohibitions to use car on the island from Naples, but economically it is more affordable to rent car in Ischia. Thank you very much for your answer.

In fact, we'll arrive from Pariggi to Roma on April 7th, so we'll rent a car at Fiumicino Airport.
We'll stay 2 days in Roma and then we'll go to Napoli for a few days.
So we'll have our rental car from the beginning.

Can you confirm that it's ok to come by Ferry from Napoli to Ischia by car on April 11th?

You should not have problems to embark your car from Rome to Ischia by ferry.
