Robert Von Mohl

The Swabian distinguished professor of law and leader of liberalism, in his recollections of life wrote about a trip to Ischia that he did with two other Germans in 1842. They landed at the Castle and took the road to the inn "Tenente." Mohl and his friends were enchanted by the extraordinary silence and tranquility of the island. In Forio had the opportunity to see women in their veils, jackets richly embroidered with gold thread and also many ornaments of gold.
