About Albergo Terme San Lorenzo
Arriving at the hotel you immediately relax and feel at home. The large halls, the Neapolitan majolica, and every detail welcome you with the promise of a restful holiday.
Unforgettable evenings and good music at the elegant piano bar, but during the day this becomes one of the best places to simply relax.
The garden that surrounds the hotel and its lush Mediterranean vegetation fill the view from every opening in the halls and frame the splendid panorama of the sea.
Gazebos and seats are ideally placed to enjoy a quiet read or a drink.
The garden also houses the outdoor thermal pools and the Kneipp circuit, built with the local lava stone and fitting perfectly in their surroundings. There is plenty of space for sunning and corners of shade, but the best feature is the breathtaking view over the acropolis of Lacco Ameno.

Rooms
You will continue feeling at home in our rooms, decorated in the Mediterranean style, with sober elegance and light coloured furnishings.
Many have a balcony or a terrace with a splendid view, all feature air conditioning/heating, satellite TV, frigobar (on request), safety deposit box, telephone, hair dryer and en suite bathroom with tub or shower.

Pool
The sun terrace of the large outdoor pool, filled with sea water, is equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, here sun lovers can indulge in their suntan for as long as they wish. The beautiful panorama on the northern side of the island and the relaxation enjoyed by the pool make this one of the favourite places for our guests to spend their days.
In the hotel, next door to the seawater pool is the indoor thermal pool at 38°C, just the thing for salubrious thermal baths enjoying the benefits of our waters.
A dip in the thermal pool is the best ending for a day spent on the beach and the best way to integrate the benefits of sunbathing with those of our natural water source.
Ensconced on the slope next to the garden are two small hot/cold pools and the Kneipp circuit, studie
to stimulate the blood circulation with alternate temperatures of 40° and 15°C. The first two pools are for bathing, while the Kneipp circuit works on the circulation of the lower limbs. The result is immediate and already after a few minutes the legs feel lighter. The beach at “Baia di San Montano” is only 500 mt away and can be reached with a complimentary shuttle bus service from the hotel.

Restaurant
In the spacious dining hall with the wonderful view over Lacco Ameno and the Bay of Naples, our guests are welcomed each morning by a rich buffet which among other delicacies features an choice of home made pastries. For lunch and for dinner a choice of menus is provided, which include dishes from the traditional Ischian and Neapolitan cuisine, as well as a rich buffet with a selection of starters, vegetables and salads.

Spa
The therapeutic use of thermal waters was already popular with the Romans who, especially in the areas surrounding the Bay of Naples discovered the benefits of these waters on the human body.
After a long cycle, the water from the rain and from the sea that filters through the various underground strata as far down as the hot earth crust, returns towards the surface and collects in reservoirs a few metres below sea level.
Therefore it is possible on Ischia to find sources of thermal water by digging a few metres below the level of the sea. The characteristics and the temperatures of the waters however vary.
The area of the Albergo San Lorenzo is called “Stufe di San Lorenzo” after the fumaroles that that the locals, already in 1580, used to treat pains and seasonal ailments. At a later date, in 1757, a doctor from the Court,
called D’Aloisio conducted the first scientific studies on the waters and discovered that the beneficial effects of the San Lorenzo source were actually greater than those of other sources on the island.
Treatments with thermal mud are the most beneficial because after maturing in thermal water for six months at least, the mud absorbs the characteristics of the waters releasing them when it is applied on the body. Thermal water baths, inhalations, aerosols and natural saunas are the therapies by which the natural benefits of our waters can be fully enjoyed.
All these treatments and many more are available at our thermal centre under medical guidance.
Those who wish to combine the benefits of the spa with those of beauty treatments and massages, can choose from the from the wide range of treatments and wellness packages offered in our wellness department.
